ABOUT AIMÉE F.

Aimee Fletcher is an experienced interdisciplinary, participatory researcher with a decade of experience within academia and working within the charity sector. She has recently completed her PhD at the University of Glasgow on making museums and cultural heritage organisations more accessible for neurodivergent people, using participatory methods.Key skills and experiences: 10 years of working within autism charities:6 years working with neurodivergent young people as a support worker and as a Project Lead (managing the service), and 3 years as an Information Analyst conducting evidence reviews on key autism topics and 2 years as an Evidence and Research Coordinator responsible for managing processes and supporting research projects for the National Autistic Society. 4 years conducting PhD research: Project management, creative methodology design, qualitative and quantitative data collection, data analysis, dissemination and thesis writing. Consultancy and advisory panel work: Commissioned for various accessibility-related projects for organisations including; National Library of Scotland, University of Edinburgh\'s Centre for Research Collections, Museums Association, Scottish Museum Federation and Inspiring Scotland. Teaching and mentoring: 4 years of experience lecturing and providing support to university students on topics including museum studies, research methodologies, accessibility, pastoral and assessment support provided in-person and online. Training and keynote presentation delivery: Developing and delivering bespoke training on neurodiversity, accessibility, event planning and autism for various university and cultural heritage organisations. Invited to speak at events and conferences internationally. Project management and process design: Managing various different complex projects across different roles, designing and supporting teams on projects ranging from events and exhibitions to research projects. Receiving and managing funding:One of 4 PhD researchers who was awarded a Lord Kelvin and Adam Smith scholarship (20••••24), including research budget. Selected as a recipient of one of the International Society of Autism Research\'s Early Career Researcher (Diversity) awards to attend the annual meeting in Melbourne (2024).
