ABOUT AIMEE S. CHARLTON

I\'m am an energetic and positive adult educator, leader, life-long learner and connector, who is both a people and animal lover! I\'ve been in the traditional classroom and in the corporate realm using my educational technology and leadership development background in a myriad of capacities. And now I have the privilege of melding my background with my passion for animals.Professional highlights-Co-founded the Best Friends Learning Advancement department -Co-developed the nation\'s first university-endorsed leadership program for executive level leaders in animal services-Founded and currently lead the university/industry partnership between Best Friends Animal Society and Southern Utah University-Expanded the Best Friends Animal Society learning advancement team and educational offerings-Taught the first graduate level course in a newly developed contemporary animal services emphasis of study-Initiated the work to gather research in support of animal services industry standards-Recognized at the One Utah Summit 2022 with a Transformational Leader awardAt the end of the day, my personal goal is simple - to make sure professionals have an engaging way to learn and connect with other leaders, to encourage confidence in thinking outside the box, and feel supported as they lead, take action and implement change. I\'m especially excited to be working with incredible people inside and outside of my organization, and to have the bold professional goals of codifying professional standards in animal services, creating a Center for Contemporary Animal Services, and ultimately being a part of creating an academic discipline for this field!
