About Aimee Danielson
Professor of Psychiatry and Obstetrics & Gynecology and the Director of the Women’s Mental Health Program at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, I have been leading clinical, academic, research, and advocacy work in maternal and perinatal mental health for over 17 years. I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a specialization in perinatal mental health, and I provide mental health evaluation and treatment for women with psychiatric disorders and associated difficulties with the transition to parenthood.In my current role, I manage the operations of a multidisciplinary perinatal outpatient psychiatric program, which serves approximately 250-300 individuals each year. My goal is to improve the mental health outcomes of women during pregnancy and postpartum, and to advance the field of perinatal mental health through research and education.
