ABOUT AIMEE APEL
San Francisco native in Berlin, I’ve worked across Europe and internationally to develop and scale programs that support mission-driven startups and climate innovators for over a decade. At Climate KIC, I lead the organisation’s gender mainstreaming and inclusive climate innovation strategies - ensuring our work engages and benefits communities most vulnerable to the climate crisis and embeds equity into every stage of innovation. My expertise lies in the strategic design of climate entrepreneurship programs - collaborating with SMEs, corporates, universities, and public institutions to shape initiatives that are locally-grounded, globally informed, and socially inclusive. Having the chance to come to work and reimagine how entrepreneurship can accelerate a just transition, and how innovation ecosystems can be made more accessible, representative, and impactful is the best part of my job. I care about inclusive entrepreneurship, climate justice, gender equity, access to education and the role of systems thinking in solving complex challenges. Lastly, I am a writer at heart and still fully intend to write the book I’ve been talking about since I was eight. Stay tuned.
