ABOUT AILEEN KUANG
Hi! I\'m a University of Washington student pursuing a double degree in English and Informatics. I am currently conducting research on the intersection of race, species, and technology in science-fiction (sf) films and literature under the guidance of Dr. Wes Eli King at the UW iSchool. Some of my other ongoing projects have explored racial/species hierarchies in the Blade Runner films and the depiction of the cyborg in Frankenstein (presentations and publications for both forthcoming!). After graduation, I hope to pursue a Ph.D. in English and continue my interdisciplinary research in STS, sf studies, and the digital humanities. My personal experiences and identities inform my commitment to diversity and care in my work, and I am invested in understanding fictions and media to imagine a liberated future for all.
