Responsible for processing insurance loss claims submitted by customers. Process the claim(s) following AmeriFirst policies and procedures, while assisting the customer in determining their intentions of filing the claim. • Train new team members that are hired into the Loss Claims Specialist role. • Request required statements and documentation from customer for processing claim per policy and procedures. • Identify, research and resolve errors and discrepancies found between customer claim and insurance adjuster. • Negotiate and make educated adjustments to claims procedure while maintaining compliant with all regulations. • Review insurance adjuster reports and contractor bids. • Verify contractor is licensed and insured according to policy and procedures. • Order property inspection and appraisals from third party vendor over the course of the claim. • Knowledge and understanding of investor regulations, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act. • Review open claims with inactivity and provide follow up. • Submit requests for disbursements through the draw process in the Mortgage Servicing Platform. • Maintain confidentiality of customer information. • Completed annual American Mortgage Lending training and all other compliance related trainings.
