ABOUT AIDEN RUTMAN

Sports may have been my entry point into leadership, communication, and community, but they’re no longer my end goal.Through my experiences with The Vanderbilt Hustler Major League Soccer, and the NBA, I learned how to lead teams, communicate under pressure, and build trust across diverse groups. What mattered most to me in those roles wasn’t the platform, though; it was the people. Mentoring younger writers as they navigated the transition to college and supporting teammates behind the scenes consistently proved to be the most meaningful part of my work.That realization, paired with past and current experiences as a camp counselor, ski instructor, and tutor for middle, elementary, and pre-school kids, sparked a clear shift in my career direction: mental health counseling and youth support. I’m deeply motivated by one-on-one connections. I want to help young people feel seen and heard during formative moments in their lives.I’m now intentionally pivoting toward mental health and counseling work, seeking opportunities that allow me to support youth through direct care. While the ultimate goal is a graduate program in the field of counseling, my current focus is to work, boots on the ground, to support youth in any way I can, making an immediate difference and earning valuable experience for my future. I enter this next chapter of my career with a sense of curiosity and a deep-rooted desire to make a difference, and I’m excited to keep learning. I can be reached at a••••••••@gmail.com!
