Provide acute trauma, cardiac, stroke, and other care to critically sick/injured patients at the direction of the attending physician. Assist the physician in advanced procedures including central line placement, tube thoracostomy, conscious sedation, and other procedures as needed. Draw labs and perform point-of-care lab testing. Take radio reports and triage incoming EMS units. Monitor vitals and cardiac rhythms of all patients on unit.Teach AHA BLS courses as needed.Work with the system emergency manager to conduct HAZMAT exercises with local public and private agencies. Assist in formal and informal training of staff in HAZMAT, MCI, and ICS procedures.
