WORK HISTORY
Founder & Director @Re-Gen
The dream started with Aidan and two of his brothers founding the Re-Gen Group in 2004, recognising the potential for engineering innovation to provide novel solutions to materials handling challenges. Fundamentally, engineering is in the brothers’ DNA. From an early age, they were proficient in the operation of all kinds of mechanical farm and construction equipment. Enquiring minds developed a deep understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, lifting and mechanical advantage and saw how problems could be solved through the application of such principles. A fascination with problem solving and a refusal to be defeated by any challenge have set the basis for all that has followed.Re-Gen Waste came first and has developed into one of Europe’s most advanced and efficient waste materials recovery facilities. An historic dependence on humans to sort, move and carry has been complemented by the power of machines, allowing those same humans to avoid the hazards and risks posed through those activities and to progress into higher value roles which rely on brain power, rather than musculo-skeletal resilience. A Founding Director of Re-Gen Waste Ltd, Aidan has 20 years’ experience leading the Company’s Commercial and Engineering Divisions. This has included the management of a large percentage of the company’s local authority contracts.Prior to Re-Gen Waste Aidan was a key member of the family led Construction & Property Development business and was responsible for the Project Management of approximately £150m award winning Housing & related developments right through from Land Purchase, Concept Design & Planning to actual Construction & End Sales. Aidan is a former winner of the prestigious NHBC UK Site Manager of the Year Award (2001) and became a fully Chartered Member of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management in 2012.
