Job consists of responding to station coverage when the first engine is out of the area/on a call. There is also an option to work as the fourth person, 2nd firefighter, on the engine crew. There must be at least a certain amount of calls that you must reach every quarter.The job comes with aiding patients on medical aids, as well as being trained and efficient during structure & vegetation fires. HFD is an all risk department, so in doing that we must be up to date with training. Reserves meet once a week for a drill night, as well as meeting for B6 drill with neighboring departments in our area. We are also tasked in completing around 3 target solutions per month. These help our department work at the best of our ability, being up to date with everything.
