IT Support Technician / Field Engineer to assist in the nationwide rollout and upgrade of network infrastructure across Halfords retail sites in the UK. As a key freelance member of the deployment team, I will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and support of Juniper SSR130 routers, contributing to the enhancement of SD-WAN capabilities, edge connectivity, and network automation in retail environments.Key Responsibilities:Perform on-site installation and commissioning of Juniper SSR130-AE routers at Halfords locations as part of a network modernization project.Execute WAN connectivity setup, including SIM card integration for LTE/5G failover.Ensure secure, organized, and standards-compliant cabling, including RJ45 and USB A-B connections.Collaborate in real-time with the TCS implementation team and remote stakeholders to coordinate tasks and resolve technical issues.Conduct configuration validation, verify hardware/software integrity, and complete deployment checklists for sign-off.Provide support for network transition and perform initial troubleshooting post-installation to ensure full functionality.Maintain accurate site documentation, including photographic evidence, cable labeling, and deployment logs.Adhere to customer site access procedures, health and safety protocols, and ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
