About Ahrif McKee

Hey there! I am a Manufacturing Engineer supporting the development of Otto Aviation\'s groundbreaking Phantom 3500 aircraft.In my previous roles, I acted as the Build Team Lead Manufacturing Engineer for the Boeing Company, supporting the Space Launch System (SLS) in New Orleans, LA. My primarily functions involve developing the build sequence for Core Stage 3 and Core Stage 4 Engine Section, along with a team of 4 other engineers. Additionally, I am involved in the development and acquisition of new tooling to support the SLS program. Before that, I worked as a Composite Material Process Engineer, supporting Manufacturing Technology Integration for Boeing Research and Technology. My projects there included developing a rapid tooling concept, supporting the implementation of resin infusion capabilities, and analyzing the efficacy of various mold release systems. My primary interests include structures design and composite structures. I also enjoy both structures analysis using FEM software and physical component testing. I graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering in June of 2019, with a minor in Applied Mathematics. At UW, I was part of the Human Powered Submarine team for all four years, holding the roles of Gearbox team lead, Administrative Director, Technical Director, and scientific diver. Additionally, I have spent two summers as an engineering intern at the Boeing Company, supporting Space Launch System Engine Section Build and Landing Gear Actuation Systems.Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, sports, and playing music.
