About Ahmer Irshad
I serve as an Engineer at Saudi Aramco in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Previously, I worked as a Chief Engineer at Siemens Energy Oil and Gas Consulting in Houston, Texas. I have over seventeen (17) years of technical and project management experience in various aspects of the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries. My experience includes hands-on project execution both for upstream and downstream operations. I am an expert at simulating plant heat and material balances and calculating detail piping pressure drop profiles for fluids. In addition, I have experience in dispersion analysis using commercially available software. In accordance with OSHA §19•••19 and its National Emphasis Program (NEP), I also managed complex Process Safety Management (PSM) projects, which delivered accurate, up-to-date and accessible engineering drawings and data to my clients. I am a frequent speaker on PSM and SEMS related issues at various workshops and have lectured at Mary Kay O’ Connor Process Safety Center, several API conferences and the Offshore Technology Conference. I met or exceeded the profit goals consistently and provided timely deliverables to new and repeat customers. My technical experience includes pressure relief system design and verification, conceptual and detailed process design, Process Safety Information implementation, Management of Change workflow designs, PHA follow-up, and extensive process simulation. I have performed projects for most of the major domestic oil and gas companies and have a broad international experience for clients in the Middle East, Europe and Far East Asia.
