About Ahmed Kablan
As a global thought leader in sustainable food systems, I bring over 23 years of diverse experience spanning international development, scientific research, higher education, and entrepreneurship. For 13 years at USAID, I led and supported transformative efforts in food loss and waste reduction, food safety, multisectoral nutrition, and sustainable food systems—designing and scaling evidence-based solutions across low- and middle-income countries.With a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biotechnology and a B.Sc. in Pharmacy, I also bring more than a decade of experience in preclinical research, university-level teaching, and small business leadership. My interdisciplinary background allows me to bridge science, policy, and practice—driving strategic initiatives that improve food security, public health, and environmental outcomes.I’m passionate about translating complex evidence into actionable policies and programs. Through strategic advising, public speaking, and cross-sector collaboration, I work to build a future where food is safer, healthier, and more accessible for all.
