ABOUT AHMED ASHRAF

I am Ahmed Ashraf, Business Resilience Lead at BDO Canada, where I’m helping grow and shape the firm’s national practice. With over 12 years of experience spanning the military and management consulting, I specialize in business continuity, crisis management, and disaster recovery—ensuring organizations are prepared for uncertainty and equipped to thrive under pressure. My professional journey began in uniform, where resilience was more than a concept—it was survival. After a career-changing injury and partial paralysis, I rebuilt my path through personal resilience, earning my MBA from McGill University, where I served as the first veteran President of the Graduate Student Society and was named one of the world’s Top 100 inspiring MBAs. Today, I bring that same grit and focus to my work with organizations across industries. I’ve supported countless clients in designing and implementing robust business continuity and resilience frameworks, from startups to global enterprises. I am one of only ~15 professionals in Canada to hold the Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP) designation from DRI International and a proud member of the Order of the Sword and Shield National Honor Society (OSSNHS). Beyond consulting, I’m passionate about how technology—and AI in particular—reshapes resilience strategies. I’ve completed advanced certifications including CBCP, Lean Six Sigma, Scrum Master/CSPO, and recently wrapped up a postgraduate certificate in AI & Machine Learning at Stanford University. Outside of work, I’m a proud father of two daughters, a former entrepreneur, and an avid cricket fan who still finds time for FIFA on the PS5 (when my kids let me have the TV).
