About Ahmed Wafik
Ahmed Wafik is a project manager and multidisciplinary designer specilizing in architecture, interior and urban design, with over 15 years in the industry, both domestically and internationally. His portfolio covers every building type and size, from small to large scale projects including residential, commercial, educational, institutional, hospitality, airports and industrial developments. In New York and New Jersey he has worked on more than 150 projects varying between new construction, additions, renovations, exterior restoration and renewal of facades.Back in 2009, Ahmed worked on some of the largest projects in the Middle East, including \"Princess Nora University\" in Saudi Arabia,(a development of over 30 million sq.ft) as well as \"The Pearl\" in Qatar, an artificial island with luxurious development (built over 43 million sq.ft.) in addition to other residential, commercial, recreational, hospitality & marina projects.Ahmed’s work emerges from meaningful experiences and a long-term vision of how the built environment is recognized and perceived. Through careful analysis of the community, as well as the urban and natural environment, Ahmed successfully manages and executes each project with precision to bring value to developers, stakeholders, and the community.Ahmed conducted public presentations and lectures for diverse audiences in the US & abroad, including teaching at Parsons School of Design and at St. John\'s University for undergraduate students. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Architecture, a Master of Science Degree in Urban Design & Community Development and a Bachelors of Science Degree in Architectural Engineering. He also conducted research on different environmental sciences and developed guidelines for applying them in architecture and urban design, enhancing new approaches to create healthier and energetically habitable spaces. His current research interests are focused on the impact of geometrical shapes on the human aesthetic perception.Aside from architecture, Ahmed is passionate about the Arts and currently is a member of the board of directors of New York Dance & Arts Innovations Inc.(NYDAI), a non-profit organization that promotes arts in New York City. In his free time he enjoys photography and his photos are often reflective of patterns and forms in the urban & natural environment.
