ABOUT AHMED ALI

Ahmed Ali is an innovator, an entrepreneur, systems thinker and change-maker with passion and experience in the areas of health equity, social impact, and community resilience. Dr. Ali is an active member within the Somali community, with emphasis on immigrant and refugee health and also serves as one of the founders and the current Executive Director of the Somali Health Board, a grassroots organization, with ambitious goals of reducing and eliminating health disparities that disproportionately affect the Somali population throughout King County and Washington. Ahmed was born in Somalia, and currently lives in Kent with his wife and children. He also sat at various advocacy, policy and systems change tables, including the Fred Hutch Community Advocacy Board, HealthierHere and the City of Seattle’s Sweetened Beverages Tax Advisory Board and believes healthcare is a universal right for all. Dr. Ahmed is also the President and Co-owner of Othello Station Pharmacy, an independent pharmacy in Seattle that serves a large number of immigrant/refugee communities in South King County.
