Provide technical and administrative leadership to a group of designers and drafters that are responsible for all mechanical and hydraulic products at all 3 sites of the division. Plan and schedule work assignments for the team. Monitor projects schedule, timelines, and deliverables using standard project management tools and engineering systems. Support design and drafting tasks for new Actuation Product Development, production support, and manufacturing engineering teams. Work closely with other Engineering Leaders and Lean Product Development organization to develop and maintain design guidelines, tools, and processes to optimize product development cycle. Provide technical guidance to team members and review the accuracy and completeness of assignments. Define individual accountability and milestones to meet project objectives. Communicate performance expectations and provides assistance to resolve problems encountered by the team. Lead and/or participate in design reviews with internal teams or customers. Implement and maintain consistent engineering practices, standards, and documentation procedures and reporting systems. Take appropriate steps to protect and safeguard Parker intellectual property. Maintain budgetary controls; allocate resources and make recommendations on the acquisition and use of design tools, software, equipment, systems, or other capital expenditures. Make recommendations to on human resources actions (e.g. staffing, training, compensation, etc.) for performance reviews. Compile engineering cost data and identify opportunities for process improvements to reduce cost and improve engineering productivity; and provide feedback to the team on performance to engineering cost targets. Mentor or serve as a resource to share specialized knowledge with others. Maintain leadership and technical capabilities through continued education or training.
