ABOUT AHLAM MAREMI
Ahlam Maremi is an Assistant Professor of Mining Engineering at the Bharti School of Engineering, Laurentian University, Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. She is an experienced mining engineer with a demonstrated history of working in both the research and industry. Skilled in Geovia GEMS, Geovia Whittle, Surpac, MineShed and Matlab. Strong education professional with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Natural Resources Engineering - Mining Engineering from Laurentian University. Ahlam teaches different engineering courses in different levels: Reliability of Mining Equipment, Materials Handling, Introduction to Mineral Resources, Engineering Economics, Mine Machinery Selection, Explosives and Blasting techniques, Plane Surveying and Photogrammetry, Open Pit Design and Surface Mining Methods. Ahlam’s current research areas of interest: mining machinery and digital technologies that are used to deliver modern, safe and productive mines. She is interested in the latest technology in artificial intelligence that impacts the working mine, i.e, autonomous vehicles and drillers. Also, she has conducted research in strategic mine planning, integrated mine planning and waste management optimization. She has presented several articles in Libya, Egypt, UAE and Morocco. She is very enthusiastic about learning new skills and methods that can increase her personal development and make her a better professional. Also, she is a self-motivated individual working well with diverse culture.
