About Alissa Henza

Dedicated, enthusiastic Geologist with 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in both conventional and unconventional plays. Technical expertise in structural geology and fault networks, 2D and 3D seismic interpretation, regional and prospect-scale evaluation (including assessments of volume and risk), and data integration for well planning and operations. Strengths include working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team; communication with peers, internal and external stakeholders; analytical and problem-solving capabilities; and a willingness to learn and apply new tools and techniques. Technical skills:Reservoir types: Conventional, Unconventional (shale/tight), Sub-saltData types: 2D/3D seismic interpretation and mapping from plate to prospect scales; integration of wireline logs, image logs, and production logs with seismic data; formation pressure data to determine regional trends, drilling parameters, and trap seal capacity; outcrop-based analyses to inform subsurface interpretationsStructural geology: Rift basins and associated depositional systems; salt tectonics and applications for interpretation in areas with low data quality; basins/plays with multiple phases of deformation; local versus regional stress/strain states and implications for well planning; fracture characterization and mechanical stratigraphyGeographic areas: North America: Deepwater Gulf of Mexico, Mexico Bay of Campeche, Gulf Coast (Eagle Ford, Haynesville), Appalachian Basin (PA, WV, OH), Maritime Canada/Jeanne d’Arc and Orphan basinsOther International: South China Sea (Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia), Australia (Gippsland Basin, NW Shelf)

Experience

  1. Principal Geologist

    Equinor

Feb 2017 — Present · Houston, TX, US

Lead Geologist, Appalachian Basin (2024-present)Responsible for assessing partner-operated well plans for geological risk, integrating new well information (both geologic and engineering) into field development plans, and delivering key inputs for reserves reporting. Senior Geologist, US Gulf of Mexico and Mexico Assets team (20••••23)• Prospect evaluation and maturation of US GOM acreage for well planning, farm-out opportunities, and lease sales. Includes interpreting new seismic to improve regional understanding of depositional fairways and predict reservoir presence for prospects and working with internal petroleum system experts to synthesize trap history and charge migration.• Participated in seismic processing meetings for the Engagement 2 survey (SLB) and provided feedback on multiple intermediate seismic volumes to improve imaging over identified prospects.• Well planning and operations of Himalia and Mochima wells, including evaluating potential well trajectories, monitoring real-time data, and synthesizing well results for post-well reporting.• Constructed a structural framework and described basin evolution for the Deepwater Bay of Campeche, Mexico, to place Equinor acreage and upcoming exploration wells into regional context and highgrade farm-in opportunities. This framework was also used to assess prospect risk and discuss additional data purchases.• Provided mentoring to interns and junior staff on regional evaluation and prospect maturation.
