About Anil G. Variath

Prof.(Dr.) Anil G. Variath is holding the charge of Registrar of the Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai. He also serves as the Director of the Centre for Research in Criminal Justice and the Chair Professor & Director of Justice M.L. Pendse Chair in Environmental Laws. Before joining Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai in 2019 he served as the Professor, Head of the Institution and Deputy Director at Amity University’s Law School, Mumbai. He has also served as the Professor, Officer on Special Duty & Head of the Department of PG Studies at Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai and the Faculty in charge and Co-ordinator of SNDT Women’s University’s Law School. He has appeared before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on The Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Bill, 2007. With over two decades in the legal profession, he teaches Constitutional Law, Corporate Governance, International Humanitarian Law, Comparative Public Law and Environment Law. He has authored four books and more than thirty articles. Three PhDs have been awarded under his supervision. Educational Qualification: M.A, LL.M, Ph.D.
