ABOUT ERIKA AGUDO

Erika is a highly personable senior student with a deep-seated passion for establishing and nurturing personal relationships within diverse ethnic communities and among individuals from all over the world. During her initial 20 months of study in Hawaii, she worked as a Multi-purpose Guide at the world’s preeminent cultural attraction known as the Polynesian Cultural Center. In this capacity, she engaged with and networked with people from various corners of the world. Erika is presently pursuing a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management at Brigham Young University - Hawaii, where she not only relishes the diversity among her peers but also contributes to their academic success by working as a writing tutor within the same university. Before embarking on her university journey, Erika dedicated 18 months of full-time unpaid service to a worldwide non-profit organization. Throughout her service period, she actively participated in weekly association meetings, attended monthly leadership training sessions, contributed to community service projects, and invested 10-12 hours of interminable work and meticulous progress tracking on a daily basis. Erika exudes confidence and possesses a natural talent for public speaking and has a rich background in music, with years of training in violin. Her commitment to musical excellence persists as she pursues a minor in college and by being part of an orchestra. Her aspiration is to leverage her profound cultural insights, natural talents, and the skills honed in the hospitality and tourism industry to become a valuable asset to her future workplace. Beyond her academic pursuits, Erika revels in travel and outdoor activities, firmly believing that immersive experiences in nature and diverse cultures are invaluable assets along her career trajectory and integral to personal development and growth. Erika strongly emphasizes personal development, harbors a profound passion for service, and demonstrates unwavering commitment to her faith.
