ABOUT ARNEL GUANLAO
As a highly creative, resourceful, CSM- and PMP-certified project/program manager, I’ve consistently delivered large, enterprise projects that redefine infrastructure, processes, operations, security, and service initiatives for high-tech firms in a variety of verticals. With a focused, proactive, and pragmatic approach to managing, I have established a track record for delivering a diverse set of projects, exploiting a keen sense of what makes projects “tick,” as well as a unique blend of skills that includes the following: Understanding Customers: In each engagement, I ask if the relevant teams have listened to the voice of the customer, as that voice can be drowned out by conflicting goals and the desire to “just do something!” By ensuring that the customer was heard, I dramatically increased the adoption of Quality Center at NetApp. Leading Projects: Project success depends on much more than the simple application of methodology. Key to successful projects is the ability to identify and drive down potential risks. This ability allowed me to deliver the decommissioning of a data center at Synaptics one week ahead of schedule, despite numerous setbacks and team inexperience. Coaching Teams: During project execution, teams must sometimes be encouraged to bounce back from disappointing setbacks. At Cisco, I was able to coach a software dev team that I was leading to recover from a major quality lapse. The team then implemented corrective actions, restoring and improving their ongoing release quality. At 247.ai, I helped software dev teams there re-establish agile practices. Partnering with Ecosystems: Throughout my career, I have demonstrated the ability to align many different interests towards achieving project goals, whether I was working with suppliers at VCE to ensure timely equipment delivery, managing stakeholder expectations at Walmart Labs, or driving new compliance initiatives at Cisco. Delivering Results: Unlike others, I do not merely chronicle project history – I drive action! I ensure that projects meet the success criteria of their key stakeholders.
