ABOUT ANNA GRETZ

I am a public health professional and researcher with experience in health promotion, pandemic response, environmental health, data quality assurance, and accreditation. Currently, I work as an Internal Services Evaluation Coordinator at the Shelby County Health Department, where I lead quality improvement initiatives aimed at achieving initial accreditation from the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). Secondarily, I also function as the department\'s Academic Health Department coordinator.I am also pursuing a PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Memphis School of Public Health. My research as an applied epidemiologist focuses on improving inference from environmental health and public health systems data, with attention to policy and structural determinants of population health.Beyond my academic and professional roles, I am an advisor to The University of Tennessee Knoxville’s Women in Leadership program (20••••26), a former Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Academic Equity Fellow (2024), and a member of the Delta Alpha Pi International Honor Society. As a person with invisible disabilities, I am passionate about leveraging my expertise and lived experiences to drive translational change in government and academia.
