Science 1st of January 2022 I work as a Scientific Officer in EFSA in Food Ingredients and Packaging Unit in Food Additives and Flavouring team. As a Chemist and specialist in nanomaterials my main duties are focused on providing support to the FAF Panel on the technical part of the Scientific opinions. I am also responsible for the communication with the CCWG Nano on the issues related to the nanomaterials used as food additives.My main duties include:• Providing scientific support to the activities of FAF Panel and the Working Groups on: Specifications, Infants Young Children, New Applications, Sweeteners in the relevant area (i.e. preparation of working documents, scientific opinions, meeting agendas and minutes, etc.).• Providing scientific support on the assessment of nanomaterials to all FAF Panel working groups.• Collecting, collating, analysing and evaluating data and information for preparing scientific outputs related to the assessment in the area Food Additives and Flavorings,• Responsible for the EFSA Scientific opinion development; contributing to drafting scientific/technical opinions\\conclusions and outputs, documents, communications, notes, minutes, replies to letters from industrial stakeholders, EC and MS authorities;( for example: opinions on E170, E410, E415, E466, E240-228,• Following different applications/dossiers (e.g. monitor the timeline, preparation of working documents, meeting agendas and minutes, liaising with experts, managing activities with partners,• Communicating and presenting scientific outputs• performing Risk Assessment for toxic elements, impurities and nanomaterials,• working in politically sensitive files;• iCanner of the unit, keeping updated the FIP UNIT of scientific and regulatory developments in the food additives and flavorings area.
