ABOUT AGNESSA SCHMUDKE
I am a curator, art historian, and cultural researcher with a focus on contemporary art in its transdisciplinary, transcultural, and outer-institutional forms. My work explores how art moves across borders, be it culturally, institutionally, and materially, while actively engaging with questions of access, context, and resonance. I’m particularly drawn to creating spaces for interdisciplinary collaboration and critical exchange between the arts and broader fields of knowledge, including science, technology, and political activism. These interests inform my approach to exhibitions, public programs, and research-led initiatives that seek to connect diverse audiences and disciplines. From 2019 to 2023, I was part of the founding team of Callie’s, a non-profit arts organization and residency program in Berlin, where I served as assistant curator, deputy director ad interim, and curator. In October 2023, I joined LAS Art Foundation as assistant curator, where I am shaping the institution’s live and outreach programs.
