View department →

Vancouver, BC, CA

At Metro Vancouver, I have the pleasure of leading a department which creates innovative behaviour-change campaigns for the region; does media relations, issues management, and emergency operations centre activities; and undertakes communications and engagement on some of the Province\'s largest infrastructure projects (including the Iona Island Wastewater Treatment Plant Projects, the Coquitlam Lake Water Supply Project, and the North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant Project). Each day, I\'m working hard with my team to support climate action, reconciliation, and equity across the region through the services that Metro Vancouver provides.

ABOUT AMANDA MCCUAIG

I\'m an accredited public relations (APR) and communications professional with a background in non-profit and government communications. I’ve had the pleasure of supporting some of the region’s most significant infrastructure projects with strategic communications through both exciting and ‘wicked’ challenges. Projects include the Iona Island Wastewater Treatment Plant Projects, North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant, Cleveland Dam Safety Enhancements, Roberts Bank Terminal 2, the Centerm Expansion Project, planning for replacement of the Vancouver viaducts, upgrades to Burrard Bridge, the Broadway Extension of the Millennium Line. I’ve also had the pleasure of supporting our region’s important sustainability initiatives, including developing the communication plans for the City\'s Greenest City Refresh, Renewable City Strategy, Zero Waste Strategy, and others. I\'ve appeared as a spokesperson on most of Vancouver\'s TV and radio stations (including Breakfast Television, Global TV, CTV, CBC, The Peak 102.7 and more). My writing and photography has appeared in alternative publications across Canada. I have a proven track record of establishing buy-in internally and externally, while pulling off meaningful and memorable events and elevating awareness of organizations. I am passionate about developing authentic relationships and framing stories in ways that are meaningful to the recipient. I value integrity, transparency, pragmatism, productivity, and authenticity.
