ABOUT AFSANEH SALARI
I am a documentary film director, editor, and producer. In 2015, I co-founded Docmaniacs film collective in Tehran, through which we produced The Silhouettes (Visions du Réel 2020) and The Forbidden Strings (IDFA 2019). In 2020, I founded Docmaniacs Production in Paris and produced A Sisters’ Tale (Locarno 2024, TIFF 2024). I edited feature award-winning documentaries such as The Future Cries Beneath Our Soil, An Owl a Garden and a Writer, and we recently celebrated the release of Writing Hawa, co-produced by Arte France at Idfa 2024 and won the Fipresci Award. I worked as Co-author and Editor on this film. I am an editing coach with Ateliers Varans in Paris and contribute to documentary projects as a creative consultant.
