ABOUT AFIF CHAMSEDDINE
With a drive for engineering, research, and innovation, I founded Orbiton, a platform that uses advanced L-band signal processing and 3RPS parallel manipulators to make radio astronomy accessible globally. This project reflects my commitment to democratizing high-level scientific tools and breaking barriers to astrophysical observation. I also lead The Global STEM Nexus and The STEMinist Blog, which connect over students and professionals from 20+ countries. These platforms foster collaboration and mentorship, supporting a new generation of STEM leaders. My work has led to partnerships with top institutions, including the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), the Cambridge Center for International Research (CCIR), and American University of Beirut (AUB), where I’ve conducted research on space manufacturing, spintronics, cosmology, and more. My work has been recognized on prestigious platforms, including presenting alongside 10 attending Nobel Laureates at the CCIR Research Symposium at King’s College, University of Cambridge. Accolades like the Google Merit-Based Scholarship, International Youth Math Challenge (Top 1 Nationwide), and International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition (Top 1 Nationwide) reflect my dedication to both technical excellence and communal impact.
