ABOUT AFIA C.

Hi, I\'m Afia - a Full Stack Engineer who cherishes creativity, inclusion, and accessibility. I\'m excited to combine my love of the arts and technology with my passion for creating products that meaningfully impact users of all walks. Before engineering, I worked for a non-profit organization that empowered adults with developmental disabilities to live full and fulfilling lives in the communities of their choice. During those years, I became increasingly aware of the ways my clients could use technology to improve how they accessed and interacted with the world. Seeing how technology played an integral role in reducing everyday barriers, I was inspired to learn more about accessibility and assistive technology; and ultimately study software engineering. My background has led me to be a patient, thoughtful engineer who values collaboration, transparency, and user-first design principles. I view each problem through an empathetic lens and am passionate about discovering creative solutions. I love application architecture, state management, and building something as functional as it is beautiful.
