ABOUT AFAMEFUNA MMAGU
There is no better way to make an impact in the world than starting from your roots. I am a Nigerian American who has a deep passion for serving humanity and this service simply motivated me to craft my pursuit of knowledge in the legal profession. I worked in PUNUKA Attorneys & Solicitors for 5 years and rose to the position of Associate Consultant. I provide legal services to several companies on due diligence, legal opinions regarding legal advice, corporate governance, and company representations regarding civil suits in the various courts within the legal system. I am also a certified dispute resolution specialist who provides ADR and litigation services for property management disputes, civil disputes as well as company secretarial services. I worked at Ardogreen Energy Limited which was truly a worthwhile experience because it permitted me to be exposed to oil and gas contracts and dealings with Shell. I was privileged to be part of the legal team saddled with the responsibility for providing legal advice on dealings in line with the Petroleum Industry Act, 2021. I conducted profound research on ensuring Ardogreen is in compliance with the provisions of several Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission regulations as well as Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority regulations. I provided legal opinions regarding questions of law about marginal fields and engaged myself in SPV Joint Committee Meetings with stakeholders in the field.I was also a Senior Associate at Andi Daze Legal in which I provided legal advisories on commercial and employment matters and litigation services on property matters with a focus on Energy Law. Balancing this, I continue to contribute as a Research Fellow at University of Ibadan CPEEL, where my expertise in Energy Law shapes the future of legal practices in the energy sector. My professionalism empowers organizations to navigate complex legal landscapes. You cannot make yourself a leader; rather, leadership is given to those who make positive impacts in the lives of people who need help. My impacts were demonstrated in my pursuit of knowledge right from my High School in Salesianum School, to my NYSC experience as President of the Legal Aid to Madonna University where I achieved my first professional law degree. I describe myself as an ambitious person with the zeal to explore and learn about new ways in making a world a better place. I enjoy embracing challenges not only in the betterment of myself, but for the collaborative benefit of others. I also enjoy problem solving.
