About Arun Vashist
A self-driven individual with 8+ years of progressive work experience in the development sector such as health, agriculture, water supply, rural development, social audit (MGNREGA), and education I have an insatiable quest for the field of development through research, policies, and evidence-based intervention. I have a keen interest in exploring areas of environmental health, rural health development, gender and social equality, climate change, and occupational health. Experienced in managing and implementing the Direct Benefit Transfer across 2 states and 1 UT of India in the TB program. Conducted 400 Gram Sabha in District Sangrur State, Punjab, under Social Audit MGNREGA I led and managed Mansa District for a reduction of 25% of the target in stubble burn. Target was surpassed beyond 25%, and Mansa district stood in the 1st position out of 9 districts, with more than a 40% reduction in stubble burn. Championed the implementation of the “Jal Jeevan Mission” and supported providing water connections in every household. Evaluation of the gram panchayat and conducted physical verification as a \"state evaluator\" by checking registers to promote them for the award and help enhance the development of the village. Good communication skills; collaboration with government officials, funding agencies, and various other stakeholders. Proficiency at grasping new technical concepts quickly and constructively utilizing the same. Love to travel so always ready to explore new locations.
