About Ajay Kumar

I am an Advocate enrolled with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and licensed to practice law in India. I have always aimed to be an all-rounder in the legal profession and have not decided to choose to specialise in any one practice area. This is by intention as I always wanted to be a lawyer who could advise a client on a commercial contract as well as a commercial suit and maybe get them bail if things come to that;). My profile though has always been largely litigation though I do have extensive experience in the areas of general corporate advisory. This allows me to gain an inter-sectional view and provide my clients with targeted, tailored, and cost-effective legal solutions to meet their particular requirements. Ethical conduct is something I value heavily and it is something that I ensure that I am acutely aware of while I am practising law. I have a BA.LLB (Hons) degree from the School of Law, Christ University Bangalore and a M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Mumbai. The M.A was undertaken by me part time over weekends and has profoundly impacted my ability to see my client’s legal problems from an inter-sectional and inter-dimensional perspective. It has also allowed me to use the tools of formal logic in order to improve my legal arguments. Apart from the above, I also am a writer who writes opinion columns that are published on online publications such as Firstpost, The Leaflet and The Wire. This apart I recently published my first work of fiction, a novel by the name Three Flights Down. I am by training a self-starter and someone who actively stays involved with a matter from start to finish.
