As part of the legal team in the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Major responsibilities in my role as legal professional 1. Legal Representation:Handling litigation and arbitration matters involving NHAI across various forums including High Courts, Supreme Court, NCLT, and arbitral tribunals.Coordinating with panel counsels, advocates, and legal consultants to ensure effective representation of NHAI’s interests.Drafting, reviewing, and vetting legal pleadings, affidavits, statements of claims/defense, and contractual documents.2. Case Management and Monitoring:Maintaining a comprehensive record of all ongoing and disposed legal cases.Monitoring deadlines and ensuring timely filing of responses and compliance with court/arbitral directions.Conducting legal research and preparing case briefs and status notes for internal use and external stakeholders.3. Reporting and Liaison:Preparing periodic reports on litigation and arbitration matters for internal review and for submission to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).Acting as a liaison between project implementation units (PIUs), regional offices, and external legal counsel to ensure smooth communication and coordinated legal strategy.4. Legal Advisory and Support:Providing legal advice on issues related to contracts, land acquisition, public-private partnership projects, and policy implementation.Assisting in the formulation of legal strategies and policy updates to mitigate legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
