ABOUT ADRITA HAQUE

Hi! I’m a mechanical engineer with six years of project engineering experience in the energy sector, where I’ve developed a foundation in technical problem-solving, strategic thinking, and team leadership.Beyond my work experience, I volunteer with non-profit organizations that focus on building interdisciplinary collaboration to advance climate education and policy in line with international frameworks and goals, such as the UN SDGs and the Paris Agreement. Within these roles, I have collaborated with industry and policymakers to identify strategies that support equitable, climate-resilient, and low-carbon futures, and advocated for these policies at both local and national levels.These experiences have reinforced the importance of expanding my engineering skillset to address the complex challenges posed by climate change on the built environment and society. I became particularly interested in cities, as this is where climate impacts are most closely felt. This led me to pursue an MSc in Sustainable Urban Development at the University of Oxford. Through this programme, I had the exciting opportunity to learn from prominent urban scholars and industry experts on the practical and policy applications of sustainable urbanism in both Global North and South contexts.
