ABOUT ADRIENNE MCMILLAN
Adrienne M. McMillan, MD, FAAP is a distinguished pediatrician, health executive, and academic leader with over 15 years of experience spanning ambulatory and inpatient clinical care, health system administration, and academic medicine. In her most recent role, she served as Assistant Chief Medical Officer at NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, one of the nation\'s largest Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), where she provided clinical and operational leadership for a network of over 30 health centers and held an academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at NYU Langone Health. Dr. McMillan is known for her translational, collaborative and data-driven approach to improving patientcare and care team experience and function. Her areas of expertise include quality and performanceimprovement, medical staff governance, primary care transformation, and the integration of technologyand behavioral health into clinical practice. She has been instrumental in designing and implementinghigh-impact initiatives that bridge practice and policy including Gotham Health’s COVID-19 vaccinationstrategy, redesign of medical staff evaluation and credentialing processes, and the expansion oftelehealth and adolescent medicine.Before joining Gotham Health, Dr. McMillan served in multiple leadership roles including as MedicalDirector of the School-based Health Program at NYU Langone Health, where she directed clinicaloperations for 22 school-based health centers, developed school-based subspecialty services includingopening the first school-based vision program in New York State, and led expansion of reproductivehealth services; and Medical Director of the Washington Heights Family Health Center at New YorkPresbyterian/Columbia University, where she oversaw a large multidisciplinary academic group practice,led implementation of quality improvement measures such as HEDIS/QARR and NCQAPatient-Centered Medical Home, and directed innovative care models including pediatric and OBcentering programs. Her work is rooted in both strategic insight and operational execution and hasconsistently focused on population health, health equity, care coordination, and improving access andoutcomes for underserved communities.An engaged scholar and mentor, Dr. McMillan has authored peer-reviewed publications, led fundedinitiatives in health promotion, reproductive and school-based health and contributed to nationalquality improvement projects through the American Academy of Pediatrics.
