ABOUT ADRIEN MONTOYA

I have acquired a lot of experience throughout my life. As an adolescent, I bugged my parents for summer jobs. They helped me get a few jobs here and there in all facets of life (rental car agency, gardening, grocery store). I started to help out my mom delivering DHL packages on the island. I learned how to cope with long hours, and customer service. After that, I worked with my dad on the peer. My father is a shipping agent. I was a tour operator, an assistant shipping agent for private yachts, and helped with the ferry between Saint-Barthélémy and Sint-Maarten.From 20••••12, I attended Bishop\'s College School, a military, private boarding school in Lennoxville, Quebec. At BCS, I learned many life lessons such as discipline, punctuality, responsibility, and accountability. I also learned a valuable tool: English. I am fluent in both in French and English. After graduating Bishop\'s College School, I got in the Media Studies program at the University of Guelph-Humber in Toronto, Ontario. I chose journalism as my specialization, but still had classes in public relations, image arts, digital communication, and marketing. During the fourth year, all media students take part in a project called EMERGE. It is a class where all the skills each student has learned throughout his/her time in school comes to fruition. Journalists publish a magazine, digital communication students create a website for writers to create content in another format, public relations students host a conference, and media awards show, while Image Arts students host a photo gallery and publish on Instagram. I was a Content Editor for the web publication and an author for the magazine. Both the magazine and website won many collegiate awards.
