I am a Clinical Laboratory Scientist at Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center, working night shift as a generalist across Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Microbiology, Chemistry, and Blood Bank. I perform comprehensive testing, manage and maintain laboratory analyzers, and ensure accurate, high-quality results to support patient care. I also serve as a union steward for ESC Local 20, representing CLSs and MLTs while fostering collaborative communication with management.In addition, I serve as Worship and Production Director at Alum Rock Christian Church, leading the creative, musical, and technical execution of weekly services, mentoring the Worship Ministry Team, and managing audio/visual production, lighting, and livestreaming.Certified as an ASCP Medical Laboratory Scientist and licensed in California, I am passionate about combining technical expertise, leadership, and creativity to make a meaningful impact. Outside of work, I enjoy drumming, recording music, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

   As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist on the night shift, I function as a generalist across Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Microbiology, Chemistry, and Transfusion Service/Blood Bank, supporting timely and accurate patient care in an acute hospital setting.Key Responsibilities and Accomplishments:• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a broad range of analyzers, including Sysmex XN, Stago STA Compact Max3, Diesse Cube 30 Touch, Beckman Coulter DxC 700 AU, Beckman Coulter Access 2, Beckman Coulter DxU Iris Workcell (DxU 850m Iris and AUTION MAX 4030), Ortho Vision, Cepheid GeneXpert, MEDTOXScan, and Advanced Model 3320 Micro-Osmometer.• Superuser and validation team member for Stago STA Compact Max3 and Beckman Coulter DxU Iris Workcell (DxU 850m Iris and AUTION MAX 4030).• Perform pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing to support diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring across neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations.• Evaluate specimen integrity and ensure accurate patient/test identification prior to analysis.• Apply strict quality control standards to ensure accurate, reliable results.• Interpret and verify results using age-appropriate reference ranges; confirm critical values through correlation checks (e.g, Hgb/Hct, anion gap, platelet count vs. smear, dipstick vs. microscopy) before release.• Calibrate, maintain, and document instrument performance to meet regulatory and accreditation requirements.• Utilize Cerner Millennium (RILIS) LIS for result verification, reporting, and workflow management.• Train and mentor laboratory assistants on procedures, technical skills, and safety compliance.• Serve as union steward for ESC Local 20, representing CLSs and MLTs and supporting effective staff–management communication.• Perform additional duties as needed to support efficient laboratory operations.
