Director of Cloud Platforms for Medtronic the worlds largest Medical Device company. I lead a Global IT organization of Agile Product Owners responsible for Cloud Platforms [AWS, Azure, VMware Hybrid] and our teams of cloud brokers, architects, builders, SREs, and cloud operations. My organization is responsible for designing and enabling Digital Transformation of next generation therapies to a global audience. Our standards for high quality, cyber resilience, and massive scale require world class rigor and diligence. I am proud to work in a field that contributes to human welfare and the advancement of therapies to treat diseases like Heart Disease, Stroke, MS, Diabetes, Parkinsons and to improving access and outcomes. I recently concluded my term as President of the Board of Directors for VMUG which is an independent technical user community of over members with 200+ local goups. Through VMUG, I have benefitted from and contributed to the broader community of technical professionals through networking, mentoring, knowledge sharing, and promoting diversity in the IT profession. The board oversees the health of the organization, the development of local leaders and regional champions, plans for over 40 events that range from global virtual conferences to regional UserCons.My career passion is partnering across a range of business, innovation, and domain experts and leading teams to solve complex global challenges. I am a continuous learner and curious by nature. I am able to capture business requirements and translate these to actionable solutions. I have managed a wide array of technology programs from the visioning process through planning, budgeting, implementation, optimization, and into multiple phases of improvement and lifecycle management.I have prior experience as a Sr. Principal Cloud Architect, Network Operations Manager, Managing Consultant. 25 years experience in IT service delivery. Focus areas have included application modernization, global data center and hosting strategy, global information security compliance (HIPAA, GDPR, EU data privacy, NIST), data center and application migration, Agile software development lifecycle and Devops, systems monitoring and operations management. I have developed skills in strategic planning, innovation, FINOPS cloud financial management, department leadership, project estimation, capacity planning, requirements gathering, process improvement, problem solving and systems design.
