ABOUT ADRIANO ESPINOSA

As an outgoing senior Industrial Distribution undergrad and 2027 MBA candidate through the ENGRMBA program at Texas A&M University, I take pride in being a decisive, deliberate, and continuous learner in whatever environment I occupy. As a scholar, I aspire to learn the lay of the land, how to walk it, and who inhabits it, finding that being a listener and a learner first allows me to lead best. The Industrial Distribution program at Texas A&M has given me many tools to address all things industrial, with the fruits showing in recent work experiences. Wearing many hats, applying soft skills acquired or enhanced through my degree program, such as technical sales, negotiating, contracting, cost analysis, and project proposals, enables me to interact and cooperate with networks of people inside and outside a given facility. Getting my first taste by placing top 20 in a technical sales competition, then diving deep into my internship, I communicated with past contractors, plant managers, and C-level executives to understand decisions made that would create constraints in engineering with countless systems already coexisting throughout the distribution center. Upon proposal, thorough research, mathematics, and content gave grounds for my proposals, but applying soft skills and tactics delivered the package best for management’s consideration.As an engineer, learning how industrial electricity, mechanical power transmission systems, and material sciences work contextualizes how the moving parts in a facility work, the costs and consequences of replacing components, and how to design new and more efficient conveyor or lift systems. Where I learned the facility through personnel on the lines, in management, or through engineering and maintenance conversations during the summer, reflecting on past experience through these courses enriches my understanding of the distribution center I called home for a summer. It provides a framework to interpret the many design, structural, and systemic decisions made when building, operating, and maintaining a 24/7 distribution center hosting gaseous and liquid battery acid, alongside the tumultuous Missouri weather.A technical skillset of Python and Excel further bolsters my ambitions, whether that be coding and iterating on a real-time productivity Vision Display System or a live inventory of camera gear, a keyboard is a gateway to my ambitions. Leveraging all the tools I have, I see problems as opportunities to create practical and intentional solutions, not just preserving, but optimizing and enhancing systems.
