ABOUT ADRIANNE WADDELL

Adrianne M. Waddell is an Austin litigation attorney who focuses her practice on a wide range of matters involving energy, electric utility law, oil, gas and commercial litigation. She is experienced in representing clients in state and federal courts, as well as other arbitration venues.Ms. Waddell is well-versed in matters relating to state and federal regulatory litigation. She advises clients on issues related to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). She also regularly represents electric cooperatives before the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC) in rulemakings, transmission costs of service proceedings, rate cases and certificate of convenience and necessity (CCN) proceedings. She also handles contract negotiations and corporate governance matters for electric cooperatives.Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Waddell worked for the PUC in the Commission Advising and Docket Management Division. While working for the commission, she analyzed proposals for decisions and settlement agreements for compliance with the Public Utility Regulatory Act, Texas Water Code and PUC rules. She also prepared preliminary, interim and final orders of the Commission and collaborated with other divisions on agency rulemakings.In the community, Ms. Waddell serves on the Hispanic Bar Association of Austin Charitable Foundation, which supports educational programs and services that benefit the Hispanic community as well as offers scholarships to talented Hispanic students in Central Texas. She also is an active member of the Hispanic National Bar Association, serving as the Region XII Young Lawyers Division representative.
