ABOUT ADRIANNA XUE
As a graduate of Boston University School of Medicine\'s MA in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine Program, I am pursuing a career as a clinical mental health counselor with a specialization in sex therapy.My clinical interests encompass sexual and women’s health, sexual difficulties, trauma-related symptoms, socioeconomic health determinants, and access to STI prevention and contraception. As a Chinese-Canadian, I grew up in a culture where sex and sexuality were often stigmatized. Through my work in sexual health, I have witnessed the transformative impact of destigmatizing conversations around sex and the body. I am committed to continuing this work as a sex therapist.My theoretical orientation draws from narrative, psychodynamic, and attachment-based approaches. I focus on de-pathologizing, critically examining behavior within the context of oppressive experiences rather than labeling it as pathology. My therapeutic practice is grounded in anti-oppressive, decolonizing, and social justice frameworks.
