About Adrián González Sierra

Originally from Monterrey, México; I am a bi-lingual global diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) strategist and human rights advocate with expertise in project management, organizational development, and risk management and compliance. My service focus areas include facilitation and mediation, leadership development, curriculum design, budgeting and financial planning, advocacy work, and public speaking. I began my career as a musical theater performer in New York City and Japan and served as social entrepreneurship consultant at various projects in Nepal and Australia, where I worked in building the economic and social capacity of elders, refugees, and Aboriginal communities. The global nature of my career across seven different countries within Asia, Europe, Oceania, Latin and North America, has given me the ability to understand how cultural differences across and within nations affect social interactions and business transactions. Over the past 10 years, I have driven strategies of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, justice and accessibility at organizations in the non-profit, international development, and financial technology sectors to promote meaningful change around the world to help people live healthier, more productive, and more independent lives. I currently serve as Sr Manager for Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging at Capital One.A business school graduate from the University of Sydney, I have complimented my international business and government and international relations majors with postgraduate studies on human sexuality and a DEI strategic management certification from Georgetown University. Completing studies in six different cities around the world, has given me a natural interpersonal intuition to build and maintain personal and professional relationships with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds. Energetic and passionately motivated to succeed, I have strong values and ideals, and am continuously determined to see tasks through a satisfactory conclusion. My ability to self-manage, while also work co-operatively as a team, has positioned me as a valuable asset in group environments.I am a proud Human Rights Campaign Global Fellow Alumni and serve on the board of several for profit and non-profit organizations, such as Theatre Washington. A firm believer of music as an instrument to change hearts and minds, be sure to catch me performing with the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington DC.
