ABOUT ADRIANA T.
My name is Adriana Tavares and I am a rising senior attending Baruch College of the City University of New York. Where I am currently working towards my Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics — with a minor in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. At Baruch I was awarded the Provost Scholar title and I am on track to graduate with disciplinary honors where I am writing a thesis which explores the critical intersection of social welfare and economic mobility. As a first-generation Latina my interests lie in building up my community, and advocating for economic equity. In my senior academic year, I have the opportunity to serve as President of Honors Student Council where I lead the council\'s activities and initiatives, ensuring it\'s aligned with the Honors Program’s goals. I am proud to intern at the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs, where I support global communications and produce analysis that promote international peace and security. As I look ahead, I am passionate about addressing poverty, empowering low-income communities, and advancing human rights through international economic development.
