Counsel students, parents, and staff, through individual or group counseling sessions, in order to improve school, home and classroom communication and facilitate the progress of students toward college readiness. •Assist students in developing self-understanding and realistic expectations by coordinating a comprehensive assessment program which includes group achievement, interest and aptitude tests, and individual measurements for students. •Reach all students through the use of strategies that employ multiple, reliable, and fair measures to assess academic, career, and personal/social progress. •Analyze and interpret a variety of data (such as cumulative record, progress reports, report card, testing results) in order to assist in the development of an appropriate educational program and placement for students and appropriate interventions. •Monitor the academic and behavioral progress of students and make appropriate interventions when needed to improve student achievement. •Work collaboratively with site staff to support a positive and safe learning environment and build connectivity with classroom and student success. •Identify and refer students and parents to school-based resources or outside providers, when requested, to help students deal with concerns that may be interfering with their progress at school.•Provide individual planning and group programming for students and parents that guide them toward career or educational goals. •Provide appropriate and effective services by maintaining partnerships with administrators, teachers, and other school personnel; and keep school staff aware of results data and effectiveness of student support. •Advocate on behalf of students with teachers and parents to build effective support systems.•2022 National Blue Ribbon School

My fourteen years of higher education experience, graduate degree in school counseling, human resources experience, and school counseling experience have given me the tools needed to help students develop skills in the areas of personal-social growth, educational planning, and career and vocational development. Counseling is a personal endeavor for me, because I want to help students find their own paths to a better life. We all deserve the opportunity to receive an education, and I want to help students from all backgrounds reach this goal. I care deeply about my students, and I want to have a positive impact on their lives.
