In my position, I support the OBID Director in setting strategic direction and overseeing operations for initiatives that enhance belonging and intercultural development across the organization. My role functions similarly to that of an Assistant Director level—advising leadership, supporting executive decision-making, and managing key projects that align with the Mayor’s Initiative on Equity and Equality.I lead the development of the Annual Report, co-establish key performance indicators to guide long-term planning, and designed internal frameworks that improve service delivery and organizational development. I also collaborate with other departments to align initiatives with citywide goals, support professional development efforts, and strengthen cross-departmental collaboration. As an office, we assess and promote initiatives in key areas such as community development, workforce and employment opportunities, professional development, service delivery, procurement, and policy alignment. Internally, we we support cross-departmental collaboration, strengthen internal teams we’ve established, and provide guidance on organizational development.Externally, our office fosters strong community partnerships through proactive engagement and collaboration. We oversee the Public Entities initiative in partnership with City Utilities, manage Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) coordination, and serve as a liaison to the Mayor’s Commission on Human Rights & Community Relations.
