ABOUT ADRIAN J. SOBLE

Working at the intersection of Architecture and Environmental Engineering, I have focused on strategies for designing interventions that aim to reduce the environmental impact of buildings at all stages of their life-cycle. With technical skills focusing on water management, HVAC and building envelope. I have the ability to identify strategies that improve the performance of buildings adjunct with the software skills to develop technical drawings, energy models and building information models. My work has a focus on building performance simulation and I continuously aim to develop strategies to help facilitate a more holistic workflow within an architectural conservation and retrofit context. Expanding from my background in architecture conservation engineering, to a more software oriented skill-set, I have been working in coding languages like Python and experimenting with tools like EnergyPlus, DAYSIM, DIVA, Grasshopper for Rhino, and Dynamo for Revit to better simulate multifaceted aspects of building performance. I am currently closely working with the capabilities of the Ladybug Tools suite and will continue to explore how to better integrate analysis into the design workflow. Energy, air quality, thermal comfort, visual comfort and acoustics are all within my scope of work. I am passionate about reducing our impact on the environment and want to work towards a more sustainable and equitable built ecology.
