Principal Research Chemist (R&D) Materials Science and Technology (June, 2012-December 2016)Focus was in packaging development for cost savings initiatives for the Fabric & Home Care and Beauty Care businesses. Utilized various techniques/instruments, such as parallel plate rheometer, DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) and DMA (Dynamic Mechanical Analysis) to develop a more detailed understanding of packaging materials. Fragrance Delivery (Beauty Care)(May 2006-June 2012)Identified key perfume raw materials that were shown to reduce human body malodor as well as improve fragrance longevity. Have led the successful synthetic efforts to identify small peptides that reduce human odor to also improve fragrance longevity and fragrance character shifting. Lead materials were formulated into new perfumes to be potentially employed in antiperspirants. • Developed understanding/technology on how to utilize small molecules (perfume raw materials) to remove and/or attenuate human malodor by the application of reactive chemistries on skin that could reduce the production of human malodor without killing bacteria. The technology was transferred to a Product Development team for further evaluation in regard to consumer benefits.
