ABOUT ADNAN TURAN

I\'m a researcher, educator, and advocate dedicated to critically examining and reimagining educational policies, particularly within refugee and migration contexts. My work centers on analyzing how educational systems shape—and are shaped by—issues of inclusion, equity, colonial legacies, and human rights. As a co-founder of LEARN (Learning and Educating Across Refugee/(Im)migrant Networks) at Arizona State University\'s Learning Futures Collaborative, I\'ve developed innovative educational tools such as the CHALLENGE simulation game, designed to foster critical dialogue on refugee education reform. My extensive experience working in the field with organizations like Amnesty International, UNHCR, UNICEF, and the Turkish Red Crescent has deeply informed my approach, integrating community-based practices, qualitative and participatory research methods, and culturally responsive evaluations into my projects.Driven by a commitment to education as a transformative force, my academic journey reflects a personal and professional trajectory dedicated to equity and social justice. My doctoral research investigates the colonial foundations of refugee education policies and their contemporary implications, offering pathways toward genuinely inclusive educational ecosystems. Beyond academia, I\'m deeply engaged in translating research into action, collaborating across disciplines and sectors to address complex challenges related to displacement, education in emergencies, and social integration. Whether through teaching, workshops, policy advocacy, or developing AI-enhanced educational tools for underserved communities, my goal remains consistent: to foster educational environments where marginalized voices are not only heard but amplified and empowered.
