Clinical Pharmacist Rotational @Nhs

I\'m currently working as a rotational pharmacist and working under the speciality of technical services and am leading on TPN ordering and management of the TPN patients from a pharmacy point of view. I work alongside dieticians and consultants to ensure patient’s nutrition is adequate. I also work in the lab checking civas and neonatal TPN and am currently updating stability profiles for chemotherapy and civas. Recently we have been contracted to make Civas and emergency medication for Nightingale hospital in the recent pandemic. My last rotation was medicine regularly covering the endocrine ward and respiratory. I’m doing an IP course and have just completed a rotation in AMU. Doing AMU has given me an insight of managing several patients with an eclectic of conditions. Drug histories, medicine reconciliation and discharges are a big part of my job. As a senior pharmacist I also oversee the training of junior pharmacists. I have also been in charge of managing my team and ensure we work cohesively to get the best out of my team. As my trust has been on continuous winter pressures, I’ve been accredited to transcribe tta to ensure that discharge medication are done quickly. As part of my AMU rotation I was given a project about feedback to resident pharmacists which I’ve achieved in my shorter rotation.I have rotated in geriatrics, rehab and prosthetics. As well my core ward commitments I am also screening HIV prescriptions and dealing with many specialist clinics as first port of call. I have also been running the dispensary and being the lead pharmacist for my first rotation at QMH. I have implemented change in not only the running of the dispensary but also how the multi-disciplinary team would see new patients to ensure any pharmaceutical issues are picked up early. As the only pharmacist HIV trained I also run the clinics for HIV patients and see patients regularly to ensure patients are kept fully informed about their new medication.
